Benjamin　Legrand　/　Singer
Born in Paris in 1962. After living a few years in Hollywood with his parents, he returned to France to study acting, singing, piano, and the drums. After working on a few films also with Jacques Demy, he decided in 1986 to create his first jazz trio. In 1993, he joined his father Michel Legrand’s Big Band, where he participated in a lot of concerts also put out two albums. In 1995 he traveled to Japan and performed in the « Chansons de Paris » touring all across Japan. He then recorded the album≪Benjamin Legrand sings Michel Legrand≫ for the King Records label. A few years later he chanced to meet Brazilian guitarist and composer Baden Powell and his son Philippe and they recorded an album together. Recently he is doing recordings of many great songs by artists such as Leo Ferré, Jacques Brel, Charles Trenet.

1962年パリに生まれる。両親と共にハリウッドで数年をすごしたのち、フランスにもどり、演劇、歌唱、ピアノ、ドラムを学ぶ。ジャック・ドゥミといくつかの映画製作に携わったのち、1986年に最初のジャズトリオを結成。1993年、父、ミシェル・ルグランのビッグ・バンドに加わり、多くのコンサートと2枚のアルバムに参加。　1995年、日本にわたり「パリのシャンソン」ツアーで日本中を回る。キングレコードから「Benjamin Legrand sings Michel Legrand}をリリースした。数年後にはブラジルのギタリスト・作曲家/バーデン・パウエル、息子のフィリップと出会い、アルバムを制作。近年は、レオ・フェレ、ジャック・ブレル、シャルル・トルネなどの名曲をレコーディングしている。
